Holy Week /Easter schedule of Services 2010
Holy Week is the final week of Lent. Iona-Hope invites the public to share in observance of Palm Sunday and Holy Week. All are welcome!

Palm/Passion Weekend
March 27 & 28
Sat. 5:00 pm
Sun. 8:00 am Sun. 9:30 am
Palm Sunday is the day on which we recall Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem on a donkey, as the crowds welcomed and greeted him with great joy and excitement in recognition of the Kingship of Christ. The triumphal entry is soon followed by the recalling of the events leading up to Jesus's crucifixion as the Passion is read by the congregation for the Gospel. “Ragman”, a dramatic presentation will be presented at all services.

Walk the Labyrinth
March 28 - April 1
Sun. 2:00 pm -5:00 pm
Mon. – Wed 9:30 am -4:00 pm
Thurs. 9:30 - 1:00 pm
A Labyrinth is not a maze. It has no twists, turns or blind alleys. Walk the labyrinth at Iona-Hope and rediscover the labyrinth as a spiritual tool. Try walking the labyrinth with your palms down and as you reach the center turn your palms up. At the center, stay and pray as long as you want. Continue to keep your palms up. As you exit the labyrinth, turn to the center and bring your palms together for a prayful end to your walk. Guidelines for the walk will be given on site.

Maundy Thursday
Thurs. April 1, 6:00 pm
Jesus celebrated the Passover with his disciples on this night, gathering them for a shared meal and exemplifying servanthood by washing their feet. Our Maundy Thursday Service will commemorate The Last Supper with Scripture readings, the celebration of Eucharist and foot washing as a symbol of our love and humility toward one another. This moving service enhances the joy of the coming Easter celebration by fully immersing ourselves in the events heading up to our Lord's death and resurrection.

Good Friday

Stations of the Cross
Church open for private meditation
1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
This is the time of remembrance when Christ laid down his life and shed his blood for the forgiveness of our sins. Without Good Friday, there can be no Easter Sunday. Without the cross, there can be no crown of victory. Come at noon for our Stations of the Cross service and pray for the world, your church, your family, and yourselves.
Easter Vigil and Lighting of the Great Fire
Sat. April 3, 5:00 pm
Sit, watch, pray and anticipate the resurrection of Christ. The service begins with the lighting of the new fire, the blessing of the Paschal candle and candle light procession. Hear the stories of God's saving redemption and experience the joy of Easter with the Eucharist, music and prayer.
